Beavers

Fun and friendship are the cornerstones of the Beaver program. Through an adventurous program of outdoor activities, creative play, music, and cooperative games, Beavers enjoy time with their friends (and meet new ones), learn how to get along within a group, and develop the confidence to be themselves.

Beavers share many outdoor adventures with their friends in the colony. Nature walks, short hikes, tree plantings and family sleepovers give Beavers a taste of outdoor fun. Through these activities, Beavers develop an appreciation and a sense of caring for the environment.

Beavers are a vital part of the community, country and world in which they live. Visits to parks, power plants, fire and police stations thrill young Beavers and illustrate the many important facets of their community.

Good Turn Week

Taking place from April 22 – May 1, 2016, Good Turn Week is a youth-driven initiative that aims to foster a stronger sense of community and friendship through acts of consideration and assistance to others.

During Good Turn Week, Scouts Canada challenges Scouting members and Canadians of all ages to perform a “good turn” and encourage every recipient to pay it forward, generating a cycle of goodwill across the country.

Part of Good Turn Week is the the Good Turn Week Community Project Challenge. This was created to help Sections, Groups, or Councils get their good turn ideas off the ground with financial support from Scouts Canada. This year 34 Community Projects across the country are taking place.

You can find out more about Good Turn Week online:

Follow the #GoodTurnWeek on Facebook and  the #GoodTurnWeek on Twitter to view all the Good Turns that are happening right across the county.
